About us
CREST is run by a group of volunteers who have personal and professional experience of cancer and who are aware of the needs of people affected by cancer.
We work closely with Carers Support Spelthorne, Crossroads, Age Concern Spelthorne and others. For more information about the help offered by these organisations please see our Other help page.
Meet the CREST team
Our trustees

Clive After my wife developed breast cancer we became involved with a cancer user group and in 2007 I was asked if I would consider becoming a trustee of CREST. We had already been to a couple of their therapy days so it wasn't difficult to say yes. At Relaxation Days I can usually be seen in a yellow jacket parking cars, carrying therapist couches or shifting furniture!

I used to work along the corridor from CREST and got to know the staff as the kettle was boiling and was amazed at what they were doing and their dedication to the Charity and it's members, so when redundancy happened in 2011 I volunteered to be a Trustee and have not regretted it for one moment.

The committee

Ken I have been involved with CREST since it began in 2004 and enjoy working with this great team of ours. I have been Chairman for several years, running the committee meetings and working with the volunteers and trustees to plan the way forward. At the Relaxation Days you may see me drawing the raffle - but my most important job is buying the cakes!

Joan I am Secretary and one of the founder members of CREST, joining CREST because I felt, as others did, that there were some services missing in this area. The CREST team is made up of very dedicated and caring people who bring many talents to the charity. You may not see much of me at the Relaxation Days - I'm in the kitchen making lunch!

Louise I joined CREST in 2007 through the Volunteer Bureau after completing a Return To Work course and I am now involved in many aspects of CREST office work. I love organising the CREST outings and trying to make every Relaxation Day a little different from the last but find my work most rewarding when we manage to really help our members.

In 2008 Louise asked me to help set up the membership database for CREST and I now look after the computer systems and the website. At the Relaxation Days you can usually find me on the Therapists' registration desk or taking photos for the website and newsletters.

In September 2008 I joined CREST to assist in the office with general duties. On Relaxation days I am often at the reception desk assisting with signing members in for the day. I love the atmosphere on these special days, as everyone seems to be enjoying the therapies, food and general conversation with people they wouldn't normally meet. It gives me great pleasure to be part of it!

I was originally brought in in 2010 to obtain funds via the Gift Aid scheme. I stayed on to help with other financial matters and recently became Treasurer. At the Relaxation Days I help set up the rooms and then mingle.
